BJP will win both Lok Sabha seats of Goa: Hussain

MARGAO: BJP national spokesperson and MP, Mr Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Wednesday accused the Congress-led UPA government of being the most corrupt government at the Centre.

He also alleged that the Congress ministers, who were involved in all types of corruption including mining, would be voted out by the people in the Lok Sabha elections, further exuding confidence that BJP would win both the Lok Sabha seats in Goa. He also spoke about the functioning of Parrikar government including the efforts made to reduce petrol price in the state.

He was addressing a gathering of BJP workers, who had staged a dharna near the comunidade building in Margao against inflation, corruption and the UPA government’s decision to allow foreign direct investment (FDI) in retail sector as part of a nation-wide protest ahead of the commencement of the parliament’s 
winter session.

Addressing around 100-odd BJP activists in the presence of the newly-elected state BJP president, Mr Vinay Tendulkar, Mr Narendra Savoikar and several other party workers,

Mr Hussain said, "The people of Goa voted BJP to power and the party was also accepted by the minority community. Like Goa, the party will also taste success in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat in the assembly elections."

Mr Hussain further alleged that the execution of the sole surviving terrorist of the Mumbai terror attack was carried out on Wednesday, a day ahead of the winter session of the parliament only to divert the attention of the country from the issue of corruption.

Speaking about FDI, he said that the party would oppose FDI in retail in the parliament tooth and nail in the larger interest of the common man.

Mr Tendulkar also spoke and assured that he would make effort to strengthen the party in the state.  Sanguem MLA, Mr Subhash Phaldesai, Mr Rajan Naik were
also present.
