BJP sore over bad state of roads in Navelim

MARGAO: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Navelim block has alleged that their constituency does not have even basic necessities like water, the power supply is not good and the roads that were tarred and hot mixed during the tenure of the present MLA are sub-standard with potholes seen on roads and parts washed away.

The constituency is presently represented by the PWD Minister, Mr Churchill Alemao.
Alleging that political forces and PWD officials have become rich, the BJP demanded that the assets of all PWD engineers be checked.
The BJP also warned the PWD that if quality of works was not improved then they would be forced to come on roads in protest and if need be approach the courts.
In a press communiqué issued here, the BJP has alleged that the Navelim MLA, prior to the elections, had made promise that he would help to provide jobs, but now had forgotten his promise and stated that it is rather shocking that the MLA who is also a PWD minister has been distributing water tanks in the village stating that people are facing water problems.
The fact that Mr Alemao has demanded many seats for his family has also come in for criticism from the party.
