BJP accuses govt of protecting Atala

VASCO: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), spokesperson, Mr Rajendra Arlekar has come down heavily on the Home Minister, Mr Ravi Naik for making biased statements in view of missing Israeli drug peddler Yaniv Benaim alias Atala.

Addressing the press in Vasco, Mr Arlekar informed that the relationship between the police and drug peddlers is very much evident after Atala went missing from the state, despite of conditions laid by
the court.

Mr Arlekar stated that Mr Naik is making biased statements when someone from the government was protecting Atala. He condemned the recent statement of Mr Naik, wherein he has said that the police are working under pressure.

Mr Arlekar said that Mr Naik is misleading the people by making various statements and the state government is protecting Atala. Mr Arlekar informed that the Home Minister, has questioned him on his silence on the petroleum pilferage issue that was reported at Zuarinagar.

Replying to the question, Mr Arlekar said that police are hand in gloves in the petroleum pilferage incident and asked whether the Home Minister is ready to reshuffle the police officials who are involved in the pilferage case.
