MAPUSA: Gurudas Govekar from Anjuna, who is one of the directors of Cosmic Collective Resorts limited, operating at Siolim, has been arrested by the Anjuna police, following a cheating case filed by another Russian director of the company.

A third director, who is also a Russian and named in the complaint, is reported missing.

The complaint has been filed by one of the directors of the firm, Mr Saricho Sergio, a Russian, through his power of attorney (PoA) holder, Ms Anna Rososinka, who is also a Russian, alleging that he has been duped to the tune of ` 1.6 crore.

The third director of Cosmic Collective Resorts limited, also a Russian, Mr Alexander Marrrido, who has been named as one of the accused in the complaint is missing.

Cosmic Collective Resorts limited was set up six years ago in Siolim with the complainant, Mr Saricho Sergio having more than 50 per cent share in the company, which had real estate interests, police informed.

In 2008, Mr Sergio went to Russia and tried calling his other directors but to no avail, which aroused his suspicion, the complaint states and adds that Mr Sergio then gave the PoA to Ms Anna Rososinka to check on the facts of the company.

Ms Rososinka then headed for the registrar’s office in Panaji to verify the details of the company when she came to know that the other two directors had informed the registrar that Mr Sergio has resigned as director of the company, the complaint states. Further, they included the name of Anastasia Krevicuv in his place, it states.

When Ms Rososinka came to check the accounts in a Mapusa bank, she found just ` 5,000 odd in the account, and ` 1.6 crore had been allegedly removed by the accused.

A complaint was then filed at the Anjuna police under Sections 420 and 468 and Gurudas was arrested while the other person is missing.

Anjuna PI Mr Manjunath Dessai is investigating the case.
