AGPSOSA petitions govt for regularisation of clerks, peons

PANAJI: The All Goa Primary School Office Staff Association (AGPSOSA), welcomed the reported move of the government to provide a peon and clerk to the government primary schools, as well as the government aided primary schools.

The association has petitioned the government to regularise the services of the incumbent clerks and peons who have been working for several years as clerks and peons in various government aided primary schools.

The association is of the firm pinion that their demand is justified as the Goa government had directly absorbed and regularised the services of the existing primary teachers in the past. As we are also existing employees of the government aided primary schools, we too should be directly absorbed and our services regularised said AGPSOSA. Giving one category of employees direct absorption and regularisation and denying us direct absorption and regularisation would amount to an act of discrimination by the government. Besides the government has regularised the services of several categories of employees.

We would like to state that we have been doing our duties efficiently, as teachers have been receiving their salaries in time, pension claims have been settled, school records have been maintained up to date and the general administration of these schools have been functioning smoothly due to our work. All this proves our eligibility and competence for the posts we are holding, said members of AGPSOSA.

We request the government to concede to our demands for direct absorption and regularisation of our services as we have put in several years of services. (Some of us have even completed 25 years of service). It would be difficult for many of the incumbent clerks and peons to find new jobs as they are overage. We hope the government will take into consideration our demands while implementing the sanctioning of a clerk and peon for primary schools, said members
of AGPSOSA.
