85 works to be taken up in N Goa

PANAJI: The North Goa zilla panchayat has tendered 85 developmental works at the cost of Rs 1.98 crore in all the 30 segments in the backdrop of cancellation of a previous tender for 86 developmental works.

The NGZP chairman, Mr Pandurang Parab confirmed that that the NGZP has tendered 85 works at the cost of Rs 1,9872312  in all the 30 constituencies. He said the previous tender, which was floated under the leadership of former NGZP chairperson, Ms Amol
Morajkar, were adopted  when there were no sufficient funds hence the present NGZP had to cancel that tender and float a fresh one.
He said that works would be taken up in all the 30 constituencies, and that all the members have been provided equal amount of funds. He said each member has been given Rs 7 lakh to carry out developmental works in their respective constituency.
Mr Parab further stated that some of the members have taken up works which were earlier tendered during the tenure of Ms Morajkar, while other members have opted for fresh works based on the requirement. He said the tendering process is nearing completion and the work orders would be issued shortly.
Further he said that some of the works that have been tendered include construction of steps for a Ganpathi visarjan facility at Tuem at the cost of Rs 2,34221, construction of a compound wall near Mauli Dhareshwar Devasthan, Dhargal at Rs 4,49406, construction of pathways at Aldona at Rs 3,72612, reconstruction of a well at Vetal temple at Penha de France at Rs 1.6 lakh.
The NZGP chief said that other works include development of a ground at Shri Krishna Devasthan at Verem, at Rs 4,37191,
construction of a hall near Zareshwar temple at Rs 3,08660, construction of a community hall at Odxel at Taleigao at  Rs 4.6 lakh among others.
