Supermodel Milind Soman’s interest in marathon runs is well known. Recently he was in Goa to tie-up corporate sponsorship for the second edition of Pinkathon coming up on May 28 2017.

Goa Marriott Resort & Spa struck a pink note as the official luxury and host partner for Pinkathon 2017. This was announced by the supermodel in the presence of Pranay Verdia, general manager, Goa Marriot.

Speaking on the occasion, Verdia said that it has been a constant endeavor of the hotel to intertwine its goals and objectives with that of the local community. “Our association with Pinkathon resonates well with our wellness philosophy of ‘take-care- Go Be Happy’ a way of life that promotes taking care of the body, mind and spirit in order to build a healthy secure future.”

Pinkathon has been able to garner huge support due to the efforts of Soman, said Verdia. “I strongly believe it is our combined responsibility to increase its outreach as it has the power to impact and change our lives,” he said.

Goa Going Pink, is a model run under the aegis of Pinkathon. It is the only women’s run to promote health and fitness among women as well as to spread breast cancer awareness. It is being organized under the umbrella of India Going Pink, a concept initiated by United Sister’s Foundation which conducts Pinkathon and takes the message to all other cities and towns of India in order to make women adopt healthier lifestyle and have a positive attitude towards life.  The key to controlling the disease therefore is to create awareness about  preventive measures against breast cancer.

Goa Going Pink will have runs of three kilometer distance, five kilometers and 10 km giving each women runner an opportunity to run in their comfort zone.
