Goa Marathi Film Festival to begin today

“Vinsan Graphics is all set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Goa Marathi Film Festival that will feature a list of quality Marathi cinema,” said filmmaker Dnyanesh Moghe, while addressing the press about the 10th edition of the Goa Marathi Film Festival to be held from June 16 to June 18 at the Kala Academy, Maquinez Palace and Inox Panaji.

This year Vinsan Graphics will be associates of internationally acclaimed Indian Academy Awards. “Besides this, Sai Tamhankar will be presented with the award for The Ever Fresh Face of Marathi Cinema dedicated by Godrej Number 1,” said festival director, Sanjay Shetye. He further added that interestingly for the first time in Goa the festival will host a Marathi cinema buyers-sellers meet where producers and filmmakers can buy or sell their films, short films or documentaries with the director/producers who will be there at the festival on all three days.

The inaugural ceremony to be held on June 16 at 6.30 p.m. at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Kala Academy, Panaji will witness a performance by Bhau Kadam, Kushal Badrike and Shreya Bugde. This will be followed by screening of the opening film ‘Kulkarni Chaukatla Deshpande’ at 8 p.m. at Kala Academy, Panaji. The festival will screen National Award Winning Films such as Sachar (premiere on June 17), Take Care Goodnight (premiere on June 17), Conditions Apply (Ati Lagu), Bhwaa, Cycle, Dashakriya, Dr Rakhmabai, FU, Kaasav, Nadi Vaahate, Ventilator, Chi Va Chi Sau Ka, Oli Ki Suki, Disha, Muramba, Half Ticket and short films like Aaba Eikatay Naa, Bobble Head, Chaukat and Saavat.

Bollywood actress Divya Dutta will be present at the GMFF inaugural. “Other prominent Marathi actors attending the event include Sai Tamhankar, Gajendra Ahire, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Swapnil Joshi, Nagesh Bhosle, Sonali Kulkarni, Paresh Mokashi, Rajesh Sringarpure, Ankush Chaudari, Sachin Kedekar, Bhau Kadam, Kushal Badrike, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Anant Mahadevan, Subodh Bhave and others,” said Moghe.
