The fourth edition of the Goa International Kite Festival is all set to be held at the Miramar Beach on January 16 and January 17. Parivartan Parivar under the leadership of plitician Abhay Patil has been organising the festival for the last three years at Miramar Beach in association with Goa Tourism Development Corporation. “The past editions of Goa International Kite Festival have brought global recognition to Goa and enhanced tourism. The festival attracts many domestic and international tourists during this season and this helps to enhance business opportunities for Goans,” said event coordinator Ashok Naik at a press conference held on Monday at a city hotel in Panaji.
The highlights of this year’s festival will be the night kite flying. Here one can witness the flying of LED flying kites and stunt kites from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on January 16. The kite festival will colour the skies of Goa with 20 national kite flyers from across five states of India and 22 International flyers from 10 countries. The inaugural ceremony will be held today at 11 a.m. at the hands of Chief Minister, Manohar Parikar.
