The monsoon season in Goa offers a unique experience of adventure activities, and to boost these adventurous trails, Goa Hiking Association recently organised a hiking tour at Chand Surya in Netravali. Over 140 participants attended the trek.
The place ‘Chand Surya’ got its name from a stone which is carved in the pattern of a moon and the Sun. The participants were also taken to the Mahadev temple giving them an opportunity to invoke blessings from the almighty. The trekkers also got to view the Salaulim dam and visit the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary.
The trek was led and conducted by Pramod Kamat, Nikhil Rawal and Chandresh Naik and was assisted by Kapil Satarkar, Asmita Tari, Anuja Kulkarni, Nitesh Shinde and Priyall Pereira from GHA.
President of Goa Hiking Association, Pramod Kamat said: “This was our first trek for the season. We started it with an interesting site called ‘Chand Surya’ situated in Netravali, which is a small town located in the Sanguem Taluka. Being our initial trek for the season, we received a great response from participants across the state. We made sure to live up to the expectations of our regular participants and also the new ones. We ensured that there was a smooth conduct of the activities and facilities being provided such as transport arrangements, first aid and guiding of the tour. We also took necessary security and safety measures and the same will be assured during the upcoming treks.”
