GCCI IT committee and Google Women Techmakers celebrate Woman’s Day

The GCCI IT committee in association with Google’s Women Techmakers (WTM), Goa chapter celebrated Google’s flagship event for women on International Women’s Day at 91 Springboard, recently.

The theme for the event, Balance for the Future of Innovation aimed at encouraging healthy gender ratio. Seven women achievers Dana Cohen Barron, Komal Paroolkar, Ketaki Parob Gadekar,   Sneha Kamat,  Pallavi Arondekar, Colleen Sequeira and Dikshita Desai who were invited as speakers spoke on their experiences.

The talks were followed by a panel discussion. Prajyot Mainkar, chairman, IT & YEF committee, GCCI, shared statistics on startups in Goa and the facilitators who guide startup entrepreneurs. Mainkar who mentors the Goggle Developers Group in the state informed the audience that  women techmakers and the Google Developers Group hosts regular events to upgrade the technical knowledge of developers. Also present at the event were Amey Karmali, general manager and Samay Shetti, community manager, CIBA, Verna and Fr.Anthony Castello, director, PCCE. Digitally printed mementoes sponsored by CIBA and a smart Google bag were presented to all the speakers.
