For the first time, Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in collaboration with Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) will organise two certified foundation courses in Screen Acting and Screenplay Writing. The 20-day course will be conducted by professors from FTII.
The full day courses will be held from April 13 to May 2. The application forms will be available from February 15 on www.esg.co.in. The fee for the acting course is `20,000, the screenplay writing course is `19,000 for which there are only 25 seats on first come first serve basis available.
The application form along with payment will be accepted at ESG from Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. The last date of submission of the application is March 5, 2019. Only those above 18 years can apply for the courses.
Addressing the press conference on Friday, vice chairman, ESG, Rajendra Talak said: “This is a very good opportunity for all the Goan filmmakers, especially youngsters who want to pursue their career in filmmaking,” adding that Goans do not lack talent but need to learn techniques, gain experience and exposure.
During the press conference, he invited film lovers to renew their Cinephile Club membership for 2019 – 2020. The Cinephile Film Club which was revived in April 2017 has over 300 members.
ESG has compiled a Goan Film Fraternity Directory that was released two years ago and currently has over 300 names and details of artistes, director, producers, actors, singers, etc. “Since we are in the process of updating the website, artistes are requested to fill the online form on the website of ESG by March 20, 2019,” Talak said.
Talak who mentioned that 40-50 films are shot every year in various languages in Goa said that a policy is being formulated for film production in the state.
