Freedom to choose a healthy life

Freedom is an important factor for our country and it is a critical component to good health as well. You will make the wrong choices from time to time while choosing your food habits, but ultimately this builds wisdom and leads to awareness on what is really good or bad for one’s health.

That’s why you have the freedom to make the right choices. A healthy body (inside and out) not only makes one feel great but also gives one the freedom to enjoy life to the fullest. So why not use this freedom and start healthy to stay healthy for rest of our lives.

Here is a list of points to help make a positive shift:

Start your day with a glass of warm lemon water to keep the body alkaline and begin the day on a fresh note.

Include at least one serving of fruit in your routine, particularly in the first half of the day to get enough fibre and digestive enzymes and antioxidants. Plus it’ll keep your body alkaline too.

Walking is great exercise as it is easy and doesn’t require on to have any equipment. This reduces stress and improves one’s sleep quality too.

Eating less is always good for health, and doesn’t mean you need to starve yourself.  One needs to focus on chewing food well. Once you start working on this lifestyle change you’ll automatically notice that your portion size has started reducing and you don’t end up feeling bloated. So be mindful and start chewing your food well.

The mind should concentrate only on one particular activity whether one is sleeping or eating. Avoid watching television; using mobile phones or laptop for at least one hour before sleeping and even when you are eating. All these things divert the mind from its sole function that is from digestion and getting the body ready to sleep, this can cause many issues like insomnia, indigestion, gas and bloating issues, etc.

Avoid drinking water during or immediately after meals as it can dilute the digestive juices and cause indigestion. A gap of 30 to 60 minutes should be maintained.

Though you have the freedom to do anything and everything, over exercising, over-speaking, overworking, over-the-counter drugs, for that matter anything in excess are not good.

Cherish your freedom to live life on your own terms, focus on your health, work hard to get back your heath and then take care of it.
