The employees of Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj, Vivanta, Ginger and Taj SATS Air Catering) across India have undergone training in special course in General Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting for 15 days at Goa State Fire Force Training, Panaji. A total of 34 candidates from various states namely, Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Haryana, Assam, Andaman, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kolkata, Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh participated in the training.
Chief guest for the valedictory function was director, Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Ashok Menon. Also present for the function were area director, IHCL Goa, and general manager, Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, Goa, Vincent Ramos along with manager, Taj SATS Air Catering, Goa, Prakash Shirlekar among other officers and staff of the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services.
The special course in General Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting for Indian Hotels Company Limited was specially designed to subject trainees to various technological advancements in fire fighting, fire prevention and life safety, evacuation procedure and medical first responder techniques related to the hospitality industry, both theoretically and practically.
Ashok congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the training and advised them to follow the best practices. Trophies were awarded to Kunal Bajpai (Rambagh Palace, Jaipur), Suresh Bhairu Bhujbal (Vivanta Blue Diamond, Pune) and Sahil Havaldar (Vivanta Panaji) for their performance during the training. Certificates were awarded to all the trainees at the hands of Ashok Menon, Vincent Ramos and Prakash Shirlekar.
