Film director and vice chairman of Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), Rajendra Talak on Tuesday informed that he is dedicating his film ‘Miranda House’ which releases in Goa and Maharashtra on April 17, to late Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar.
“Parrikar has always supported and helped me in my filmmaking career and today he is no longer with us. He was a man with a vision and always encouraged people who wanted to do something of their own. This is a small gesture through which I wish to pay tribute to this great man,” said Talak.
Talak further stated that ‘bhai’ was the one who helped get a censor certificate for his Konkani film at the first edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa and he will never forget the constant support that Parrikar showed him.
The ‘Miranda House’, the seventh Konkani film by Talak, is a suspense thriller and features Pallavi Subhash, Milind Gunaji, Sainkeet Kamat, Prince Jacob, John D’Silva, Audhoot Sahakari, Sanjay Talwadkar, Sanjiv Prabhu, Madhavi Desai, and Anil Raikar. “All my films have a social message or are based on a theme. I have tried experimenting with different concepts in order to raise the bar of each film. This film too is in par with Hollywood films and has a lot of work in terms of story, music, and cinematography,” said Talak, while inviting people to watch the film in theatres.
The cinematographer of Miranda House is Suraj Kurade who has worked on several Gujarati films while the film is edited by Vardhan Dhaimodkar who has graduated from FTI Pune.
The film is available in both Konkani and Marathi along with English subtitles. In Goa, it will be released in all the Inox theatres – Panaji, Margao, and Porvorim; Cine Vishant, Margaon; Z-square Panaji; K Sera Sera, Vasco; Heera Talkies, Bicholim; Cine Niagara, Curchorem; Cine Paradise, Kuncolim; Carnival Cinema, Ponda; and Nandi Cinema, Pernem.
