FC Goa hosted a Christmas event for their Junior Gaur members at the Bambolim Stadium. This year the club launched the Junior Membership programme to cultivate the passion of the beautiful game amongst their young fans, and the enthusiasm shone through in the event. Nearly 50 children, who had signed up as Junior Gaurs came to the event along with their parents to take part in the Christmas festivities.
The event saw the children getting their own personalised FC Goa jersey as well as an opportunity to meet and greet their favourite FC Goa stars. Junior Gaurs got their jerseys autographed and took pictures with the stars.
The event also gave the children an opportunity to take to the field and play against the FC Goa players which included Lenny Rodrigues, Carlos Peña, Pratesh Shirodkar and Laxmikant Kattimani.
All the participating children also got surprise Christmas gifts from the players.
Speaking about the event, commercial director of FC Goa, Aditya Datta said: “We are really happy to have these children come to the event. FC Goa has always been a club that has been fuelled by the passion of a great football loving community. And today was a great opportunity for us to give back to these amazing set of young fans.”
He also added “Age has never been a bar to be a fan and our aim with these memberships was to help the young children get close to their favourite players and help enthuse the feeling of belonging. The great response from the fans this season to make their children Junior Gaurs shows that they share our vision and passion for the club and the game.”
