Konkani feature film ‘Fake’ held its premiere at Ravindra Bhavan Margao. Film received a good response with audience members saying it is an entertaining Goan film that is almost on par with commercial cinema standards. Present at the premiere were minister for art and cultural, Govind Gaude and administrator, Fr Agnel College, Pilar, Fr Menino Allan S M Peter Tavares.
In his address Gaude encouraged Goan youth to take part in cultural events. He said he is happy to see the production of films increasing in Goa and his dream is to take the Goan film industry to an international level. He urged filmmakers to use schemes provided by the government. He asked audiences to watch Goan films and support the Goa film industry. Fr Menino wished the filmmakers luck and reiterated Gaude’s message of supporting Goan films.
The film has been produced and created by Amod Mardolkar under the banner Amod Mardolkar Production and also plays the lead character in film. It has been directed by Vishal Haldankar and Rajesh Mandrekar; DoP, Pankaj Karapurkar; editor, Sameer Adkonkar; music director, Rosh Noel and Sagar Naik.
The team comprised nine students of the Vinsan Academy of Film and Media, Panaji.
The cast and crew for the film are mainly from Goa and the entire film has been shot in Goa.
Saurabh Karkhan, Merlyn Dsilva, Velencia Rego, Pradeep Padgaonkar, Quinson Colaso and Anay Kamat are also a part of the film.
