CURCHOREM: Laptops were distributed to 1452 students of Class XII from Quepem taluka under cyberage scheme at the hands of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral, chairman of Goa Infotech and Technology MLA Subhash Phaldessai, managing director of Goa Infotech and Technology Nilesh Phaldessai, Director of Education G P Bhat, and CCMC chairman Anita Naik were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Parsekar said that facilities are being provided to the students in Goa. Earlier, computers, and then tabs and now sophisticated laptops are being provided to the students.
“There was no good response to the distribution of laptops in other areas. But in Curchorem the response is overwhelming.”
He said that the Curchorem MLA is the person behind this response.
He further said that every year 2,500 apprentice jobs will be provided to the youth.
For this, some 250 industrial units have been identified to cater to the needs of the students, who have not fared well in academics, but are good in technical studies, he said.
