One of the biggest music festivals Oktoberfest Goa 2012, which was held over the weekend along the coastal stretch of Baga, was an affair to remember. The three-day high octane music festival featured some of the best DJs performing live from across the country and abroad. Gracing the sands of Baga were popular Dutch heartthrob Marco V, Da Fresh from France, Swedish progressive house DJ Ticon, Emok and a host of Indian artists from across the country. The impressive line-up of artists from India included the unconventional Ma Faiza, Lost Stories, Arjun Wagle from Jalebee Cartel, Goa’s very own Ajit Pai, KSK, Rinton, Priyanjana and Whosane! among others. The festival was organised by Goa-based event management agency Bullseye Entertainment.
Oktoberfest is originally a 16-day festival held annually in Munich, Germany running from late September to October. Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture. Oktoberfest Goa festival venue featured two stages - the German Tent and the Main Stage - with back-to-back music performances starting from noon onwards. The German Tent at the Oktoberfest Goa festival venue was modelled after the original Munich event. Built to recreate the original Oktoberfest ambience, the tent included wooden seating, appropriate attire, tasty bites of German cuisine and music on the console.
Live acts by the fire performers along with a tempting range of delicacies from Goa complemented the electrifying set of music played by the artists. With some of the biggest international names in electronic dance music performing, the second edition of the music festival was bigger and better. But the music didn’t stop there. The after parties then continued on all three days at Red Square, Baga where music lovers grooved till dawn.
