Empowering women

NT BUZZ

Change2Life charitable trust, Nerul held its third ‘Women Empowerment’ workshop at Siolim. The event witnessed women from all over Goa coming in large numbers with a variety of handcrafted bags, as part of the trust’s ambitious project ‘Best Out of Waste’.

Chief guest for the occasion was block resource person for North Goa, Preeti Kerkar. Lauding the efforts put in by the women, she said: “Courage, along with hard work is needed to unlock our hidden talents. When women take up social assignments as a passion, it not only brings in enthusiasm in their own lives but also acts as a source of inspiration to many others. The act of giving back to the society should be seen as an investment that guarantees huge returns in the future.”

The event also featured a ‘fancy dress’ competition wherein participants were given an opportunity to display their team spirit through various games held.

Speaking on the occasion, resource person from Brahmakumaris Spiritual Organisation, Kaustubh Kamat said: “Anger is a poison that hampers the creativity of an individual. Anger also creates a rift in our relations, and above all affects our health. Spiritual wisdom and meditation can help a person remain calm and composed even in trying situations. Inner peace is our greatest wealth, and should not be squandered by thoughtlessly reacting to any situation.”

Chairman of Change2Life charitable trust, Murgesh Raman; vice-president of Azoba Devasthan, Siolim, Mangesh Korgaonkar; and managing trustee of Change2Life charitable trust, Siddhi Tambi were also present at the event. Looking ahead, the Trust has plans to conduct similar workshops in the future to make women financially secure and spiritually enlightened.
