Bajaj launches new Platina ES
PANAJI: Baja Auto has launched the all new Platina, which according to the company is the world’s most fuel efficient bike. The new Platina is not just an upgrade, but an entirely new platform developed with a new DTS-I powered engine which delivers a mix of power and mileage. According to Bajaj, the motorcycle delivers 96.9 kmpl as per ARAI testing. This is the highest ever among all 100cc bikes not just in India, but also all around the world. Total knee replacement surgery conducted at Manipal Hospitals
PANAJI: Manipal Hospitals Goa conducted its first personalised total knee replacement. Anthroplasty (Joint replacement), as it is called, was achieved by Dr Raghavendra K S, consultant joint knee replacement surgeon, Manipal Hospitals Goa and his team of expert doctors. Anthroplasty is the surgical reconstruction of a joint, which aims to relieve pain and retain or restore normal physical movements. Total knee replacement has become a highly successful joint procedure which has revolutionized joint replacement procedures and has rendered a painless affair forging a much more prolonged clinical solution. It claims to be the first such hospital in entire Goa, Northern Karnataka and Southern Maharashtra to perform this surgery. This was done using persona implant. The advantage lies in the customisation abilities that give the patient a permanent remedial relief.
Export promotion workshop
PANAJI: The GCCI in association with the office of the Deputy Director General of Foreign Trade is conducting a half day workshop on export promotion on March 10. The workshop will be held at GCCI between 9.30 a.m. – 1 p.m., and will have sessions on import-export procedures, import-export regulations, insurance cover for exporters, credit facilities and more. PANAJI: CII-Goa will celebrate its annual day on March 11 at Panaji. The celebrations will have a special address by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar as well as Power Minister Milind Naik. Industries Minister Mahadev Naik is also likely to attend. Rasna signs Akshay Kumar as brand ambassador
MUMBAI: Rasna recently announced the signing of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar as the company’s brand ambassador. Rasna has kicked off its 2015 campaign with a brand new TVC featuring Akshay Kumar and Rasna girl, Avan Khambatta (Avan is the daughter of Piruz Khambatta, chairman and managing director of Rasna). The new television commercial directed by Curry Nation will hit national television soon. Ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani was roped in for still photography for a new packaging of Rasna that will see both Akshay and Avan in a new avatar. The campaign continues to use the ‘I love you Rasna’ tagline, attached with the brand since 1987.
