Workshop on management of cooperative societies

PANAJI: The Goa State Cooperative Bank (GSCB) is organising a one-day workshop on management of cooperative societies for persons connected with cooperatives, which includes office bearers, employees, tax consultants etc. The workshop will be on May 12, between 9.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m, at Sahakar Sankul, 6th floor, conference hall, Patto Plaza. Chartered accountants R Pikale and Parimal Kulkarni will conduct the workshop on taxation of cooperative societies under Income Tax Act and under GST respectively. Satyaprakash Kamath will talk on accounts and internal control of cooperative societies and Prasad Volvoikar, deputy registrar of cooperative societies will throw light on duties and responsibilities of the office bearers under the Goa Cooperative Societies Act 2001. Indian Plumbing Conference  concludes today

PANAJI:  PWD Minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar inaugurated the 24th Indian Plumbing Conference at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium, Bambolim.  Chairman of EDC Siddharth Kunkolienkar was the guest of honour. Dignitaries present during the inauguration were Gurmit Singh Arora, president of IPA (Indian Plumbing Association), C Gupta, secretary of IPA, Ashok Joshi, president of Goa chapter of IPA and others. The IPA conference is being held in Goa for first time and the theme is ‘Plumbing for a Sustainable Future’. It concludes on April 28.  The first session was a panel discussion on the topic ‘When Luxury Meets Sustainability’. The second panel discussion was on the topic ‘Integrated Approach Towards Waste Management’. There were technical sessions as well.  The exhibition has the presence of many leading brands from the plumbing industry. This two day conference has received overwhelming response from the delegates as well as visitors for the exhibition. NT
