Dhavalikar terms outgoing Ponda council ‘most corrupt’

While addressing a public meeting, held to campaign for MGP-backed panel – Rising Ponda, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar alleged that the outgoing council has been one of the most corrupt he has seen in his lifetime.

The meeting was held at Aguiar Ground, Ponda, and  was attended by Rajesh Vernekar, Dr Ketan Bhatikar and the candidates of Rising  Ponda.

Dhavalikar said that the outgoing council had come into existence following the victory for the alliance between BJP and MGP, but later on the councillors backstabbed the MGP.

Instead of working for the welfare of people of Ponda by supporting development works, the council was seen blocking all the projects, he said.

He said that the MGP as an alliance partner in the government tried to bring many projects in the town including traffic management and sewerage system, but the councillors objected due to their vested interest.

He went on to urge the people of Ponda to vote   Rising Ponda to power for a clean governance in the town.
