In today’s competitive age there is a lot of pressure on children to excel not only in studies but in sports and other fields too. But what many fail to understand is that not every child is emotionally and mentally equipped to cope with the pressures. Understanding a child’s talent and potential is every parent’s first and foremost concern. In an attempt to help parents understand their children’s potential, Brain and Body, a franchise of Our Time Services has brought the Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test (DMIT) to Goa. In a candid chat with NT Kuriocity, Director at Brain and Body Naadia Khan reveals more about this unique test that is now available in Goa.
Q: What is DMIT?
DMIT stands for Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test. Derma in Latin means ‘skin’, ‘glyphic’ means the pattern of design on fingertips (ridges), which we call the fingerprint. The fingerprint is the indirect map of the brain. The brain and finger ridges of a child start developing in the womb during thirteen weeks of pregnancy and are fully developed by the twenty seventh week. The ridges and the brain are interconnected.
Q: How is it helpful for the students to choose their careers?
It helps a child and parent to rearrange, inculcate and plan for a successful life ahead. This test helps parents understand a child’s inborn studying pattern. It helps to break the mental barrier thereby increasing a child’s confidence and scores. It also helps in understanding a child’s interest which also helps clarify the career path that the child can take.
Q: What is the process used for the same?
We scan the finger prints through a biometrics device and evaluate the patterns of the ridges. This report is sent for analysis to the testing laboratory in Mumbai. The report analysis is shared within a week or two.
Q: How accurate is it?
It is the parents who actually confirm that the accuracy is amazingly great. We make the child and parents understand the qualities that the child has inherited and the path through which he/she can utilise these talents. At times when we talk about the traits inherited, parents immediately identify these traits with those of family members.
Q: What have been the success stories on DMIT in other countries?
The success stories have been amazing and encouraging. In fact, the success in other countries has led this science to our country. From the onset of the Olympic Games, USA and USSR have used this science to identify candidates talented in sports. It is n wonder now that a major chunk of the medals were won by these two countries. Later almost all nations went used this science to increase their utilities and uses in each and every individual.
Q: What are the future plans?
Brain and Body plans to reach every nook and corner of the state. Brain and Body is presently conducting seminars and sessions with parents and children in Goa to make people aware of the DMIT test and its benefits.
