Dempo Sports Club eased their way past Salgaocar Football Club with a comprehensive 5-1 win in their Goa Football Association U-16 League play-offs match held at Dempo Academy ground, on Wednesday.
The young Eagles dictated the play from the first whistle and nearly missed a chance to take the lead in the 15th minute when Velancio Rodrigues took on two defenders but the lad failed to put the ball past the keeper.
After much probing, the young Dempo side broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute through Shreyash Naik, who on receiving a pass from midfielder Shreyash Naik, covered some ground before rounding off the keeper, 1-0.

The second half started on a cautious note as both the teams played more of possession game. However, Dempo SC doubled the account at the hour mark from a counter when Dwayne Neto played a through ball to Sherwin Abranches and the lad ran down the flank before crossing the ball to Velanco Rodrigues who made no mistake to make it 2-0.
