Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has condoled the death of former deputy speaker Vishnu Wagh.
In a Twitter message, Parrikar has stated, “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Vishnu Wagh, my former colleague in the Goa assembly and ex-deputy speaker. Vishnu Wagh was a highly gifted personality who excelled in different fields. May god give his family the courage and strength to bear the great loss. My heartfelt condolences to the family.”
Wagh had passed away in Cape Town on February 8 during his visit to South Africa. He had been ailing after suffering a heart attack on August 15, 2016.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the mortal remains of Wagh will be arriving in Goa on Saturday.
Ramrao, the brother of Vishnu Wagh, informed that the arrival of the body had been delayed as some document-related formalities need to be fulfilled with the Indian embassy in South Africa.
He also informed that the Chief Minister’s Office and the Office of the Speaker have expressed all willingness to help in the matter, however very less information is available from South Africa.
