The opposition put the chief minister Digambar Kamat on the mat over the issue of massive illegal mining in the state during the budget session of the Goa legislative assembly. Alleging that the senior police officers are involved in illegal mining trade, the opposition on Tuesday took the government to task for not conducting proper investigation into the case. The leader of the opposition Manohar Parrikar demanded to hand over the case to a proper investigating body.
