Even though Goa government has banned mechanized fishing within the state  waters for one and half months which began on 15th of June but Karnataka fishermen continue to fish in Goan waters near palolem, mashem and galgibagh. Thus agitated with the inaction of the state authorities to curb the illegal fishing, the Goa fishing boat owners association has decided to call an emergency meeting so as to pressurize the government on the issue.
