The disqualification petition against navelim and Curtorim MLAs  Churchill Alemao and Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco  was finally dismissed on Friday by the speaker of the legislative assembly who ruled  that the merger of Save Goa Front into Congress party was in accordance with the constitution of India which allows two-thirds of the party’s members  to break away and join another party or form a separate bloc. The speaker’s verdict on the nearly 2 year old petition gives relief to both the MLA’s ahead of the assembly elections in March.
