Constable, 3 others held for threatening Chimbel resident




Old Goa police have arrested 4 persons including a police constable in connection with a case of allegedly threatening a person at knifepoint at Chimbel on Saturday.

The arrested persons were identified as Mustafa, Afzal, Karpuswamy and Arshad Khan, a police constable attached to Panaji police station, informed the police.

According to the police, a complaint in this regard was lodged by Mohammad Haldwale, from Indiranagar-Chimbel.

Referring to the complaint, the police said that when the complainant had gone to a garage at Chimbel on his motorcycle, the above four persons approached him and allegedly threatened him at knifepoint and hurled abuses at him. They also allegedly threatened to kill him, the police said, adding, the complainant somehow managed to escape and called the police. He was further rescued and brought at the police station.

The police said that the incident happened over a relationship issue. Further investigation is
being carried out by LPSI Veronica Coutinho under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi.
