Mapusa: The Congress has held meetings in North Goa, and is getting good support from the people, said North Goa Congress candidate Girish Chodankar.
The MGP has openly supported us, said Chodankar while addressing a meeting at Moira in Aldona
On Saturday, Girish Chodankar had a day long campaigning in Aldona constituency wherein he along with party workers interacted with the people. The campaign began from Shetyewaddo in Mapusa and went ahead to Bastora, Ucassaim, Palyem, Nachinola, Pomburpa, Carona, Aldona and concluded at Moira.
Addressing the gathering in the presence of party leaders, Chodankar said that the people of Goa have decided to teach the BJP a lesson. The BJP will not win a single seat in the by-polls and the parliamentary seats in the state mainly due to the inflation, unemployment, corruption and poaching of MLAs, he said.
He also added, “We are contesting the elections and campaigning not on the basis of the weakness of the opposition but with promises made in the vision manifesto”.
“Once our government is formed at the centre we will provide 32 lakh jobs within a period of one year. We have also decided to provide all facility, loans and subsidy to fishermen. Nationalisation of rivers will be denotified” said Chodankar. Tivim MLA Nilkhant Halarnkar said, “With the MGP supporting the Congress candidate Girish Chodankar it will give a boost to the party and the Congress will win both the Lok Sabha seats with huge margins. We all have to work together for the victory of Chodankar”.
