New Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will visit New Delhi on Thursday evening.
During his maiden visit to the national capital after being sworn in as the Chief Minister, he will meet President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national president of Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Shah and other leaders.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, Sawant confirmed that he will visit New Delhi to meet his party leaders. After winning the floor test in the state
Assembly, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that BJP will win both the Lok Sabha seats and the three bypolls – Mandrem, Mapusa and Shiroda, scheduled to be held on April 23.
“Though the Lok Sabha polls and by-elections in the state will be a challenge before me being the Chief Minister of the state, I am confident that my party will win all the seats,” he said.
Sawant said that he has immediately focussed himself on streamlining of the administration and speeding up of the ongoing works related to different infrastructural projects. “Because of Manohar Parrikar, I am here today. Taking forward Parrikar’s dreams will be my priority,” he said.
