Eighth batch of total 203 security guards successfully completed three months rigorous training at Police Training School, Valpoi on Friday.
A passing out parade to mark the culmination of the training was held at PTS ground, during which Speaker of Legislative Assembly Pramod Sawant inspected the ceremonial march past and took salute.
The security personnel were imparted training on various aspects including indoor and outdoor operations. It is the eighth passed out batch of Goa Human Resource Development Corporation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker advised the guards to upgrade their education and knowledge for better future. He said on lines of reserved quota kept in home department especially for home guards, similar sought of reservation should be there for security guards who are working under Human Resource Corporation.
Sawant said that it was the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who envisioned formation of Human Resource Development Corporation. He said more than 1500 Goan-origin security guards and more than 600 housekeeping attendants have been recruited in various government departments.
Appreciating the recruits for their impressive parade, Sawant exhorted them to continue with good habits, they have learnt during the training period, in their life.
Madhukar Phal, managing director of Human Resource Development Corporation also spoke on the occasion. Recruits Vishal Velip, Yogesh Naik, Shubham Naik were awarded medals by the Speaker.
Earlier, Bosco George, Superintendent of Police and principal of Police Training School welcomed the guests. Gurudas Gawade, Vice Principal proposed the vote of thanks.
