The CII Goa presented a report on logistics to the Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar, last week. The report was prepared based on the CII conference on logistics held on July 5 2017.
Atrey Sawant, chairman, CII Goa, urged the Chief Minister for a state logistics policy. He also emphasized that Goans need to be made aware about the benefits of the various infrastructure and logistics projects for which the government could conduct awareness programs.
CII is in support of national waterways. Sawant pointed out that, declaration of national waterways is not a process of nationalization. “The rivers are not private property so the question of nationalization doesn’t arise. Declaring six Goan rivers as national waterways simply means these rivers are given national importance. This will allow us national funding to develop the rivers, which can be compared with national highways.”
