The Diocesan Society of Education (DSE), Panaji in collaboration with Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, organised its North Goa Christmas Fiesta at the Kala Academy Panaji.
This year’s theme was ‘Christmas, a celebration of love and charity’. Chief guest for the event was senior council of Bombay High Court, Goa bench, Jose Elmano Coelho Pereira who gave away the token of appreciation awards to various participating schools. Special invitees were advocates Somnath Karpe, Joaquim Godinho and Vledlson Braganza.
In his address to students, parents and teachers, Archbishop, Filipe Neri Ferrao said: “Christmas is about giving and forgiving.”
The programme began with the students of Sacred Heart of Jesus High School invoking God’s blessings with a prayer dance.
Various carols, Konkani play, mimes, musical skit, dance, etc, by different DSE Schools from North Goa were also staged. The highlight of the programme was a display by the 31 students of Our Lady of Merces High School. Also present were the assistant secretary of DSE Fr Analdo Pinho and the North Goa coordinator, Gorethi Aphonso.
