School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore was declared winners at the National Moot Court Competition Lex Omnia 2014. The event was organised by Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao, Goa in association with BITS-Pilani as part of the larger event WAVES 2014 at the BITS-Pilani, Goa Campus at Zuarinagar.
The runners up were Symbiosis Law School, Pune who were also adjudged as winners of the Best Memorial award. The final round was adjudged by the sitting Judges of the Panaji (Goa) Bench of the Mumbai High Court, Justice F M Reis and Justice U V Bakre, who were also the chief guests and gave away the awards at the prize distribution function, in the presence of principal of the Law College A S Nadkarni.
Justice F M Reis praised the legal acumen and remarkable advocacy and research of members of both teams and lauded the G R Kare College of Law for the professional standards of the competition. Justice U V Bakre gave his words of advice to members of all teams present and complimented the organisers.
In the two days preceding the final round, several teams from leading law colleges and national law schools from across the country went into oral arguments adjudged by leading advocates and academicians to find a place in the successive quarter and semi final rounds. The overall Best Mooter award was bagged by Vaibhavdeep Singh, Faculty of Law, Jamia Milia Islamia University. The competition was coordinated under the overall supervision of assistant professor, selection grade Saba da Silva of the G R Kare College of Law.
