Hotel Park Prime, near old Patto Bridge, Panaji, celebrated International Women’s Day in a special way. The hotel invited the women sweepers of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) for an entertainment programme along with fun and games. About 50 women cleaners of CCP turned up for the programme and were greeted with a rose and welcome drink.
“It was a great experience for the women and us,” said Umesh Behra, general manager. He said that, the hotel wanted to thank the women for their best contribution to the society. “The cleaning work they do and the hard labour they undergo to keep our roads clean is really appreciable,” he said.
Behra added that, through the initiative the hotel aimed at giving honour and respect to lower level employees who are dedicating their job to society. During the event, prizes were given to the CCP lady visitors who won in the games. They were treated to a good buffet lunch. The hotel also honoured some its employees who had performed well during the year. A vote of thanks was given to the commissioner of CCP for his support and co operation in making the celebration successful .
