Punjab MLAs, now in Goa, briefly attended the ongoing budget session of the state legislative assembly on Tuesday afternoon in two batches.
PANAJI: The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday assured the state legislative assembly that the government would take action against those who were involved in illegal mining and other frauds in the state during the previous Congress regime and who looted the state to the tune of over Rs 5,000 crore.

MARGAO: Expressing concern over the recent attacks on two females in Betalbatim, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar on Sunday said that police patrolling would be intensified in the coastal belt areas, especially in Betalbatim, in the next 15 days in order to curb the occurrence of such incidents.

MARGAO: Ms Bertha Cardozo has been elected as the vice-chairperson of the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) in an election held on Tuesday.
Ms Cardozo polled 12 votes against 8 votes of her rival candidate, Mr Dayanand Mayekar.
