DHAKA: Shakib-Al-Hasan claimed four wickets and hit a quickfire 58 to help Bangladesh win the opening match of the five-game limited-overs series by nine runs against New Zealand on Tuesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
New Zealand needed 210 in 37 overs on the Duckworth/Lewis method after rain suspended play after 15 overs when New Zealand were 85-4 in reply to Bangladesh’s 228.

Gambhir, Ishant ruled out of 2nd Test; Laxman doubtful

MOHALI: In a massive blow to the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma were ruled out of the second Test against Australia due to knee injuries while VVS Laxman was rendered doubtful on account of back spasms.
The BCCI named batsman Abhinav Mukund and pacer Jaydev Unadkat as replacements for Gambhir and Ishant.
