Youth drowns off Calangute

PANAJI: An unknown male, aged between 20 to 25 years, drowned off Calangute beach on Wednesday, after he was caught in a rip current and could not be located by the rescue team of the Surf Life Saving Goa.

Concerted effort needed to boost dairy production in Goa: Ravi

PANAJI: The Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Mr Ravi Naik called for joint efforts by department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services and Goa Dairy to achieve sustainable development of animal husbandry sector and enhance production of milk in the state. Goa, he said produces about 52 000 litres of milk daily and still depends on the neighbouring states to meet its requirements.
