Home Minister tables statements in House

PANAJI: In a bid to clear the name of his son, Mr Roy Naik from the allegations as regards his involvement with the drug mafia, the Home Minister, Mr Ravi Naik, on Thursday, tabled a couple of statements made by two Roys – Roy Fernandes and Roy D’Souza, both from Anjuna.

Increased budget allocation aimed at boosting maritime sector: Pillai

VASCO: The Flag Officer Commanding Goa Naval area, Rear Admiral Sudhir Pillai said that the new maritime agenda 2010-20 with the budgetary allocation of Rs 500,000 crore, up from the Rs 100,000 crore, allocated to the earlier National Maritime Development Plan which ends in 2012, would provide a roadmap for the development of the maritime sector.
