GMS moves HC over pendency of cases

PANAJI: The division bench of the High Court of Bombay at Goa comprising of Mr Justice A S Oka and Mr Justice F M Reis asked the Advocate General, Mr Subodh Kantak to ascertain the actual number of cases, which are currently pending before the Industrial Disputes Tribunal, while hearing a petition filed by the Gomantak Mazdoor Sangh (GMS) complaining about the huge pendency of cases owing to a vacancy under Section 8 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

ESIC dispensaries, hospitals to get Rs 60-crore boost

VASCO: The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Goa has taken up the renovation work of the administrative office located in Panaji besides the dispensaries and hospitals located in various parts of the state at an estimated cost of Rs 60 to 70 crore in order to give better health care facilities to the insured persons under the ESIC Scheme.

3 held for unlawful assembly, assault

PONDA: Three persons, one man and two women, from Panchwadi, whose names were disclosed as Simrao D’Souza, Maria D’Costa, Rosy D’Costa, were arrested by the Ponda police for unlawful assembly and for allegedly assaulting three persons, Mr Constantinho D’Costa, Mr Derrick D’Costa and Ms Cliffy D’Souza, from a rival group here at Muxer, Panchwadi.
