College Scapes 2018, a two-day State level photography workshop was organised by SV Sridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa for the third successive year. Thirty-seven students from colleges across Goa attended the workshop. Chief guest for the event was Antonio Pacheco.
The formal inauguration was followed by two pre-lunch sessions on the topic ‘Portraiture and Lighting’. During the post-lunch sessions, chief mentor from Canon India, Rajesh Kamat explained the importance of the basic parameters associated with photography. He then formed groups and switched to practical exercises.
As a part of the workshop, a photo contest was organised on the theme ‘Prosperity’, where participants used their imagination to depict various aspects and events related to the theme. The first prize was won by Aliston Dias from St Xavier’s College, Mapusa.
Chief guest of the valedictory function, Suraj Mantravadi said that one can start something like photography as a hobby, develop it into a career and make big money out of it while following one’s passion. Participation certificates were presented to all participants at the valedictory function. The next day saw the practical aspects of photography demonstrated by Antonio Pacheco through a photo walk in Mala-Fontainhas.
