The first meeting of the cabinet advisory committee constituted by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar before his departure to the US for advance treatment on his pancreatic ailment, will be held on Wednesday.
The meeting will deliberate on the pressing mining crisis.
The committee, which has been set up by the Chief Minister to function as an administrative mechanism in his absence, consists of Minister for Public Works Ramakrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar; Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai and Urban Development Minister Francis D’Souza
Speaking to ‘The Navhind Times’ on Tuesday, Sardesai said that he has spoken to Parrikar on the phone, adding that the CAC will meet on Wednesday to decide on the future course of action in the light of the implementation of the Supreme Court order on mining.
The committee will decide on how a solution can be worked out to save the livelihood of mining dependants after the mining shutdown from March 16.
D’Souza said the agenda for the CAC meeting will be finalised by Chief Secretary Dharmendra Sharma and accordingly the members will deliberate on issues including mining crisis.
