The curtain finally came down on the 1st Popular Tiatr Festival organised by the Tiatr Academy, Goa at the Pai Tiatrist Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The president, Thomazinho Cardozo, the vice-president, Roseferns and the entire committee of the academy, deserve praise for initiating a festival of such magnitude, for the first time in the history of Konkani ‘tiatr’.

VASCO: Cumbharjuva Nagrik Samiti’s ‘Ravan Shivgan Sangharsh’ won the first prize in the float (chitrarath) category while Gurudev Avedkar Samaj, Borim, Ponda was awarded first prize in the Romtamel competition, organised by the Murgao Nagrik Shigmotsav Committee here in Vasco, on Friday.
