VASCO: The Vivus SMRC Heart Centre has successfully carried out Permanent Pacemaker Implant (VVI) type on the upper part of the heart of a Goan patient. with the expert doctors, Permanent Pacemaker Implant (VVI) type on the upper part of the heart is yet another facility available in the hospital wherein the interventional cardiologist, Dr Ramdas Nayak has successfully carried out the Permanent Pacemaker Implant on a critical patient who was hailing from the state of Goa.
Dr Nayak has informed that the patient was ill and found himself difficult to do his daily chores. His heart function was less than 20 percent of normal. He said after the operation, “This has led to dramatic improvement in his symptoms and has enabled him to perform all his activities with ease within 24 hours of procedure”. This new technique by pacing a pacemaker towards the upper side of the heart is a small device were heart functions artificially and within a week of the implantation of pacemaker, the patient can walk and run.
