Vasco is best rail station

VASCO: The Vasco railway station has been conferred with the ‘Best Maintained Station’ for the year 2009-10 in the South Western Railway zone. The region comprises of Bangalore, Mysore and Hubli divisions.

The award was presented to the station manager of Vasco railway station, Mr P C Chacko by the South Western Railway general manager, Mr Kuldeep Chaturvedi at the 55th Railway Week celebrations held in Hubli. This is the first time that the Vasco railway station has bagged the prestigious award. Besides this, Mr Chacko was also awarded the annual manager award for dedicated service.
When contacted, Mr Chacko informed that the Vasco railway station has been given a facelift and the authorities give utmost priority for the upkeep of the station. Mr Chacko also informed that earlier the ‘Best Maintained Station’ award was bagged by Bangalore, Mysore, Dharwad, Bangalore, Hosur and Bellari railway stations.
