PANAJI: In tune with its CSR philosophy and commitment to the development of agriculture, Sesa Goa provided agricultural aid that includes a tractor and a fibre boat to Amona Panlot Sangh (APS) recently.
The dignitaries present on the occasion were Mr Pratap Gauns, MLA Pale Constituency, Mr N L Vhatto, Business manager – PIP, Mr Shashikant Ghadi, president Amona Panlot Sangh, Mr Paresh Fadte, Sarpanch Amona, Mr Mahajan, Manager Safety and other panchayat members. The tractor will be used by the villagers to plough their fields faster and will help bring more areas under cultivation, thus increasing agricultural production, said a press release.
Apart from diesel, APS will be charged a minimal amount for maintenance. It will be maintained by APS. The fibre boat will greatly help in the repairs and maintenance of bunds as it is very difficult to manually carry material for long distance. It will also be a source of additional income as it will be used for fishing. Mr Sashikant Ghadi said that farmers should not ignore their ancestral legacy of farming for some short term gains.
