Sesa Goa offers agri equipment to Betki farmers

PONDA: Sesa Goa has been adhering to its commitment to agricultural development in line with its CSR philosophy, by helping the farmers in terms of training, seeds, fertilizers, and farm equipments. Recently Sesa Goa gave agricultural assistance in the form of a power tiller and weed cutter to the Betki Farmers Club.

The dignitaries present were Mr N L Vhatte, BM-PIP, Mr Ram Daimodkar, ZAO Ponda, Mr Abdullah, manager HR, Mr Mahajan, manager safety, and Mr Saju Gaude, president of the club. Seventy farmers will be benefiting by it. This was an essential requirement for the farmers of Betki as it was not possible to plough the fields using tractor due to undulated topography. The power tiller will be very helpful because it can be used to plough even in very small and rugged land holdings. As the region is mountainous, grass grows in abundance. The weed cutter is equipped with three different kinds of blades which will make weeding and grass cutting very easy. The equipments will be used by the club members, said a press release.
