Samsung launches Galaxy Beam projector phone in India

NEW DELHI: Samsung has launched its ultra slim projector smartphone Galaxy Beam’ in India at its e-Store. The smartphone is priced at Rs 29,990.

According to the company, Galaxy Beam’s built-in projector which boasts of 15 lumens brightness, offers “stunningly good definition with a gradated throw up to 2 meters away, you can adjust sizing as you wish, up to 50 inches large - as big as your TVs”, and will be able to playback the media from the internal storage as well as a memory card.
With Galaxy Beam, Samsung has managed to merge beam projector capabilities with powerful smartphone performance.
Known as the Galaxy Beam GT-I8530, the smartphone has a 4.0-inch touchscreen with 480 X 800 pixels resolution and is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery, which the company claims offers up to 3 hours of continuous play time. The device also has a 5MP auto focus camera as well as a 1.3MP front facing camera. Samsung Galaxy Beam runs on a dual-Core 1 GHz processor and comes with a 4.0” WVGA TFT screen and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. For connectivity, the device supports Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, microUSB, USB 2.0 and GPS.
